Abstract submission

The primary purpose of the ELC is to promote discussion and exchange of ideas on the chosen topics.
In recent years the number of abstract submissions to the ELC annual meeting has increased considerably, but because of the size of the lecture room and the accommodation available, the number of people who can be accepted to attend the meeting is strictly limited.
Make sure to submit your abstract by April 24, 2024, to have the possibility to be selected to attend this year’s meeting. Please note that by submitting an abstract, you are committing yourself to participate in the meeting, provided your abstract is accepted.
Call for abstracts will be open until April 24, 2024.

Because applicants are chosen on the basis of the abstracts they submit, the following guidelines have been set-up by the Organising Committee:

• Each applicant can submit only one abstract for consideration.
• Abstracts should be submitted via the online submission system. Abstracts received in another way will NOT be considered.
• You will need to write your abstract of a maximum of 300 words, using the following headings:
  

• All abstracts are rated/graded (blind) by the Organising Committee members, and applications are exclusively chosen on the scientific merit of the work.
  All abstracts are treated confidentially by the Organising Committee members.
• Some of the chosen applicants will be invited to present their work orally. All other chosen applicants will be presenting their abstract as poster and are expected to participate in the general discussion of the presentations.
• The Organising Committee believe that discussion and exchange of ideas is best promoted by having people with a wide range of experience and expertise at the meeting, and that as many different laboratories as possible should be represented. This may be taken into account when similar abstracts from the same laboratory are competing for a space.
• The Organising Committee feel a good discussion is promoted by having the widest possible range of countries represented at the meeting. For this reason, where similar abstracts are competing for a place, consideration to country of origin may be taken into account.
• Because of the timing of the grading and selection procedure, abstracts received after the deadline will not be accepted.
• The selection of abstracts takes place at an Organising Committee meeting, and those selected will be notified by June 2, 2023 at the latest. The notification includes a link to payment of the registration fee.
• Selected applicants are expected to stay for the full length of the meeting.
• A ”waiting list” of applicants, whose abstracts scored below a cut-off point, is kept. If any places become vacant, individuals on this list will be approached.
